Privacy policy
This policy explains what data BackHome (the "app", "we") collects, why, and your rights. We follow data minimization: we only collect what the app needs to work.

1. Data controller
BackHome is operated by Taupin Hugo. For any question about your data: backhomesafeapp@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
• Account: first name, last name, email and, where applicable, phone number, provided at sign-up.
• Location: your location, including in the background ("Always" permission), solely to detect your arrival in zones you define yourself. Your location is not tracked continuously nor sold.
• Safe zones: places you create (name, coordinates, radius), stored on your device and, for syncing, on our servers.
• Contacts / loved ones: names and contact details (phone, email) of the people you choose to notify. You are responsible for having their consent to add them.
• Notifications: a push notification identifier (via OneSignal) to send arrival information to you and your contacts.
• Subscription: your premium subscription status, handled via Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We never receive your payment card data.
• Technical data: minimal operational information (notification send logs, device type).
3. Why we use this data
• Detect your arrival in your zones and automatically notify your contacts.
• Manage your account, authentication and preferences.
• Manage your premium subscription.
• Keep the service secure and working.
Legal basis (GDPR): performance of the service you request (contract) and your consent for background location, which you can withdraw anytime in your device settings.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We use technical service providers strictly to run the app: Supabase (database & authentication), OneSignal (push notifications), RevenueCat & Apple (subscriptions), Google Maps (map & address search). Your contacts' details are used only to send them your arrival information.
5. Retention
Your data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, it is erased from our servers (see section 7).
6. Security
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS) and data access is protected by authentication. Sensitive keys are never exposed in the app.
7. Your rights
You can access, correct and delete your data. Account deletion is available directly in the app: My Account → Delete my account. It permanently erases your account and associated data. You can also contact us at backhomesafeapp@gmail.com.
8. Children
BackHome is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The last-updated date appears at the top.
